This position is designed to be mutually beneficial, providing the student intern with hands-on experience in applying data science to real-world IoT and smart building challenges while allowing our organization to benefit from fresh perspectives and cutting-edge academic knowledge. The intern will work closely with our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and facilities management team, contributing to the enhancement of our smart infrastructure through data analysis and innovative tech solutions.

The intern will work closely with our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and facilities management team, contributing to the enhancement of our smart infrastructure through data analysis and innovative tech solutions.

· Assist in the collection, processing, and analysis of data from various IoT/OT devices and smart systems within the building(s) and BACnet system(s).
· Develop predictive models to forecast system behaviors and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
· Participate in the Considerations, Development, and/or implementation of machine learning algorithms to enhance building security, comfort, and efficiency.
· Collaborate with the IT and facilities management teams to integrate data science solutions into the building's operational framework.
· Contribute to the evaluation of new IoT technologies for smart building enhancements.
· Prepare and present findings, with reports and/or dashboards to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management and stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on data analysis, machine learning, or AI.
· Strong analytical skills with experience in data processing, statistical modeling, and machine learning algorithms.
· Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen interest in applying data science to real-world challenges in the context of smart buildings.
· Ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and effective manner.
Preferred Capabilities
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and familiarity with data analysis tools and platforms.
· Knowledge of IoT frameworks and smart building technologies is a plus.
· Desire to influence build, facilitate, and/or engage a community of contributors around data science and operational analytics.
· Desire and ability to influence collaboration and participation with key data sources and reporting stakeholders.
· Knowledge of the security and or IoT/OT industry.
