NTT Research Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Photonics Research Intern for a 3–6
months internship. The intern will focus on numerical modeling and simulation of vertical
cavity optical parametric oscillator (OPO) devices using the COMSOL Multiphysics
platform.
Develop and implement COMSOL models for vertical cavity OPO structures
Simulate optical modes, nonlinear interactions, and device performance
Study key phenomena including oscillation threshold behavior, phase-matching
conditions, and parametric gain
Analyze simulation results and contribute to interpretation and documentation of findings
Collaborate with researchers to refine models and support ongoing device design efforts
